Everyday Makeup: Products

HELLO!

Today I thought I would share with you the products that I use for my everyday makeup. :)

Face

To prep my face, I use my Clean Scene moisturiser and apply some primer, I use the Primed Poreless by Too Faced.

For concealing I use my Hide The Blemish Concealer by Rimmel London in Ivory and for foundation I use Chanel's Vitalumière Aqua Foundation in BR10. Sometimes if I feel like using powder, I apply a bit Wet n Wild's natural blend pressed powder in Natural.

Eyes

First of all I apply some eye primer, I use the one by too faced.
For my eyeshadows, I use the brow-bone color from the Walking on Eggshells pallet by Wet n Wild as a base and highlighter. For my crease, I apply Nevermind from Urban Decay The Vice Pallet and then for the outer corner I change it up, but most of the times it's Black Market from The Vice also.
I use the cream eyeliner in Black by E.L.F. and most of the times I use the LashGasm Mascara by Too Faced.

Cheeks & Lips

For blush, I choose either Peach by NYX or my cream blush from Coolcos in 02.

When it comes to lips I only use lipsticks, lipglosses are too sticky and messy. I love bold lipsticks and  the one that I am mostly using at the moment is my Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Crush.

Hope you liked it. What do you prefer lipstick or lipgloss?

Love,
Mariana

Fave app: Dujour

Hello!

I thought I'd share with you guys my new favorite app!
Even though my favorite app of all times is Instagram, I thought I would talk about a recent one that not that many people may know about it.

The app is called Dujour. It is almost like Lookbook (but less annoying)! You basically take pictures and you can have different collages, then you can add labels for each of your clothes, choose the type and the brand. If you click in any of the little badges under your picture you can check out other people that had the same thing in their outfit.
One reason that made me feel the need to download the app was because they were made by brazilians, and that just makes me super proud of my country! :)

I post almost everyday there, if you have an iPhone, just download it and then look for me it is @TicapindosMari, just like all of my other social media stuff! :D

What do you guys think about this app? Would be willing to try it out? If so, tell me your usernames below and I will follow you guys for sure!

Mariana

Yay or Nay: Trapeze bags

Hello!

Today I will be talking about the not-so new trend that has been going on: THE trapeze bags.
I believe that first ones to get really trendy were the Céline bags and then more affordable brands started getting inspired by them.

Here are a couple of my favorites:

1. Céline trapeze bag: ($2300 to $2550)*
2. See by Chloé april-small tote: (
$595) 3. DVF trapeze bag: ($495 to $645)4. Reed Krakoff Atlantique mini tote: ($1190) 5. Topshop Winged Pushlock tote ($76 to 90) 6. Oasáp Trapeze 2way contrast color luggage ($69)7. Cuore and Pelle Caterina Purse ($385)
8. Reed Krakoff trapeze tote (
$1590) 9. Céline Luggage Tote ($1765 to $2354)*

* I was not sure of the exact price, since there are no official online stores I googled and found an estimated price.

I am definitely wanting to get a trapeze bag! What about you? Make sure to leave in the comments your favorite bag! :)

Why I started blogging?

Hello!

For today's post I got the inspiration from the IFB project #87, in which I will be telling you why I started this blog and what I hope to achieve!

I have just started this blog. It has only been a month and even though I don't always post on daily basis (school gets in the way a lot), I am LOVING it! :)

The reason why I started the blog was simply because I wanted something to be my hobby, something that wouldn't be stressing and would take my mind out of school related things, something for me to just relax. And the fact that I have been following so many blogs made me want to be part of the community and sharing my likes and dislikes.
I also thought that blogging would help me to get better with writing, since I want to be a fashion journalist!

In the future...

I hope to get more followers, more feedback from them so that I will learn to do better. I also hope to thank them, if the big ammount of followers increase (I've always wanted to do giveaways! :ps).
I also hope to go to an orphanage and do blog post all about it. I've been really wanting to stay there for a day and play with the kids. :)
Another thing that I want is obviously to be able to go Fashion Week, but that might be a little too out of my league.

What do you hope for the future? Make sure to tell me in the comments, I would love to know! And also, tell me what kind of posts should I do? I would really enjoy some feedback! :)

Mariana

Nail Polish Obsession Tag.

Hello!
Today I am going to be doing a tag all about my nail polish obsession! :)
1. What is your favorite nail polish company?

My favorite nail polish brand from outside of Brazil would probably Topshop! I recently bought one of their nail polishes and it is surprisingly good. It is very easy to apply and lasts a lot longer.
Now, when it comes to Brazilian nail polish I would definitely have to choose two brands. The first being Impala, a well known brand and the other one Hits, a newer brand that has different collections with soap operas and famous women.
2. Glitter or no glitter?
Since I am lazy, I don’t use glitter that often. But my favorite nail design that I do and gets lots of compliments is the Ombre Glitter, so I would definitely say yes to glitter. Once you get the hang of it, it is easy to use and makes your nail look more glamorous.
3.OPI, China Glaze, or Essie?
I haven’t tried any of the Essie polishes and the only China Glaze that I actually have is a beautiful glitter nail polish and my OPI polishes were very disappointing. So I would have to go with China Glaze, their glitter is absolutely amazing and it is not too watery, it is perfect and looks beautiful.
4.When do you change your nail polish?
When I am not too busy or too lazy, I will change it right when it starts chipping, so in 3 to 4 days.
5.What’s your favorite color on your nails?
When I first started painting my nails was when I had just stopped biting them, so they were very short and tiny. At that point I would only paint my nails of lighter colors, the most daring ones were blues.
6.As my nails got longer, I started to use other colors, brighter ones.
Now, my favorite color on my nails would either be YELLOW by Ciaté (I love yellow, but this one is the ONLY one that actually looks good on me) and Topshop’s Eclipse, which is the most beautiful oil-ish nail polish ever. Depending on the light, it looks either blue, green or gold-ish and it is very metallic. Definitely a favorite, since I painted my nails with it more than once.
 7.Darks or brights?
The brighter the better.
I have always been insecure on how my nails were tiny and even when they are really long, they are small. So, in my head darks would make them look even smaller. And also there is the fact that I love bright colors, they always make me happier
8.What are you wearing on your nails right this moment?
I was feeling very colorful and had too much time...

Impala in Polaina Fun and Disco Ball; Sinful Colors in Soul Mate.

 9.Matte nails, in or out?
I would say kind of in. There was a point were I was obsessed with Matte nails, but now I feel like I just don’t really care about it anymore. But I really like the matte black with the shiny tips.
10. French manicure?
I don’t really like, unless it is a different one or it is for some kind of fancy commemoration. I have never been a fan of them ever since I heard in school the true story about them (rumor has it that French women used paint their nails like that so that no one could see how dirty their nails were
11.Favorite color for each season?

Spring: pastel colors
Summer: Neons
Autumn & Winter: darker colors

Feel free to do this tag in your own blog and post the link in the comments, I would love to know about other nail polish lovers!

Love,
Mariana

Yay or Nay: Pastel & Neon

Hello!

Today I will share with you guys my newest favorite trend, which mixes pastels and neons! It is fun and perfect for spring and summer!

The Trend
Both pastels and neons having been popular for the past few seasons. Now, it has been taken to whole new level where coloblocking is used with the two different colors.
I personally loved Kim Kardashian's outfit:

It looks classy and safe but still trendy.

Here is my outfit of saturday that was inspired by the trend.

Neon tee from Cubus, Mint green pants by Zara, white H&M bag, Zara sunglasses and sneakers, chain linked bracelet from Ur & Penn and Michael Kors watch.

What do you guys think of this trend? Would you wear it or not? I would love to know in the comments!

Mariana

Love Hate Relationship: Melissa

Hello!

Happy Monday!

Today I will be talking about my love-hate relationship with Melissa. No, it is not a random girl. It actually is a shoe brand from Brazil that makes really cool shoes make of plastic (that smell amazing btw).
Melissa Campana

The Brand

Melissa is, as I told you before, a Brazilian shoe brand, that are produced by Grendene. They first launched in 1979 and their first model got the name of Aranha (spider). Which were inspired by the sandals that were used by the fishermen of the French Riviera.

For quite a long time, the brand was a huge success in the adult public. In 1986, Melissa started making shoes also for the little ones, and lauched the so called Melissinhas (little Melissas). They would come with special accessories, which make all the little girls want them all the time!

BUT... The brand that I and most of the girls my age know, only started to actually get noticed in 1994. And in 2000 the brand went back to growing more and more.
Now, different well known designer are invited to customize the brand's shoes, such as Jason Wu, Vivienne Westwood, the british stylist J. Maskrey (hers are one of my faves, they have beautiful cristals as detail) and many others.

Melissa Vivienne Weswood Anglomania

Now, they also have these cute ones that are for the little ones, which makes me want to have a little baby girl and just make her wear all of them.

Spider and Campana for the little girls

My impressions

I've always loved the style of the brand, their designs are beautiful and the stores smell amazing.
Even though the brand has all these amazing shoes, they are still made of plastic, making it a bit hard to be worn. You can of course wear their boots, I've seen it a lot in Sweden, since it is rainy and they are pretty cute. But the ballet flats are a bit harder, specially if you have to walk a lot, my feet hurt a lot and I get cuts and everything since I walk a lot around Denmark. In Brazil I can easily wear them, though. One pro is that they sandals are really cute and they don't hurt at all and they have all sorts of cute designs.

Here are a some of the ones I have:

Bonus!!

Check out some of their ads! It is sooooo awesome...

This one is an old school and in portuguese, pretty funny...

Hope you liked it! You can check out their online store here, if you are from Brazil. Or you can go to Solestruck, which also sells Melissa! :)
Tell me in the comments your Love-Hate relationships! :)

Love,
 Mariana

Yay or Nay: Monochrome

outfits from Marc Jacobs, Oscar de la Renta and Michael Kors.

Hello!

It is time for another "yay or nay"! Today it is all about trendy monochrome. Which I am completely in love with! Last year we had lots of pastel colors, but now they have been replaced by the chic and classic combination of black and white.

I have been seeing a lot of stripes, polka dots, houndstooth and many other different patterns in the classic colors. Here are a couple of pieces that I thought were pretty from topshop and could easily be added to anyone's wardrobe! They are cute and could still be used even when the trend is over. That is what I always do, I try to first buy things that are trendy but I can definitely still wear them after the trend is gone! :)

Another thing that has been very popular is the use of neon lime green in some of the combinations, which I particularly like and it is always good to add a little pop of color in your outfit, and lime green looks absolutely beautiful! Here are two outfits that I saw from Zara's website, I think that they are gorgeous!

You can obviously wear something that you like and add something from the trend. That is what I always do! Make it your own, that is all that matters! :)

So, what did you guys think? Is it a Yay or a Nay? Tell me in the comments and also tell me other things that you would like to see in the Yay or Nay series!

Love,
 Mariana
