HELLO!

Today, I have a very quick and simple post! :)

Here's my outfit for today!

Yay or Nay: Gladiator Sandals

HELLO!

Gladiator sandals! One of my favorite trends that I got first introduced to around 2009 (I think, all I remember is I was still living in Brazil!), and now the trend has definitely made a comeback. You can find the sandals everywhere at the moment, whether it is from high-end designers or at your local Target, they are EVERYWHERE!

I personally love the trend because it is so versatile, you can wear sandals that go all the way up to your knee like this gorgeous Stuart Weitzman one, or this Charlotte Russe one:

Left: The Gladiator Sandal by Stuart Wietzman in Black Nappa ($425) Left: Qupid Laceup from Charlotte Russe ($39.99)

You can also wear the shorter ones, but still rock the trend. Whether you'd prefer an edgier sandal like the one from Topshop, or something a bit more delicate like the one by Rebecca Minkoff, it is up to you! :)

Left: Filey Strap Sandals from Topshop ($60) Right: Georgina Sandal in Black by Rebecca Minkoff ($125)
There are also the bulkier sandals, which are my favorites when it comes to gladiators! XD
You can rock a "Hercules" one from Target or a more modern approach from Dr. Martens.

Left: Claudia Gladiator Sandal from Target in Black ($29.99) Right: Clarissa in black leather from Dr. Martens ($109.95)

My favorite brand when it comes to most trendy shoes is Jeffrey Campbell, because I like shoes that are very different and unique. And the brand has some beautiful gladiators, but the thing that stood to me the most was the fact that they make some of them in the option of a high-heel or flat.

Top (left to right): Bellona Leather Knee-High Sandal by Jeffrey Campbell ($290), Isolde Leather Knee-High Sandal by Jeffrey Campbell ($285)
Bottom: Advent Leather Lace-up Heel by Jeffrey Campbell($245), Valeria Suede Lace-up Sandal($195)

PS: The Jeffrey Campbell sandals at the top, can detach a part of it so the sandal can become a shorter gladiator.

As you can probably already tell, gladiators are definitely a YAY for me! What about you? I would love to know your opinion on the trend!

What trend of shoes have you fallen in love with?

Makeup Monday: My Eyeliner

HELLO!

I feel like throughout the years I have found the makeup look that seems to flatter me the most and that I feel most confident in. Granted I have had plenty makeup fails, trying to rock a smokey eye even. However, my go to makeup look is a winged liner and bold lips, so I wanted to share how I have been doing my eyeliner lately, which has been working pretty well for me, and it's pretty simple! :)

I usually do my neutral eye makeup or whatever I feel like wearing. Then, using an angled brush that is somewhat dense (I'm using a NYX one), I apply black eyeshadow (mine is Black by NYX) just like I would an eyeliner, I wing at the end and work my way in. For me, the angled brush gives me a lot more precision and the shadow is much easier to remove if I make any mistakes and I can lightly line my wing, so both eyes look similar. Tip: for a really dramatic wing, I use tape so that it is a straight, sharp line!

Because I have oily (yucky) eyelids, I can't simply wear the black shadow because it will move to my crease most likely! And I don't feel like the shadow has enough intensity either. So I apply a liquid liner over the shadow (Mine is Kat Von D's Puro Amor)! I already have a guide to easily line my eyes with the scary liquid eyeliner and I am ready to go!

That is how I do my eyeliner! Pretty simple right? Tell me what is your go to makeup look, and how you like to wear your eyeliner! :)

PS: Today I am starting a photography challenge over on my instagram, be sure to follow me!

How I Style: Backpack

HELLO!

Something that I have been seeing everywhere in stores are backpacks and I appreciate this trend a lot! :P So I decided to share how I style looks with backpacks, granted that my backpack is a bit bigger than the tiny ones that are trendy but I love it way too much! :D

So here's my backpack! I believe I bought it at TJMaxx for $30.00! I love the hook on the front and the gold hardware. Let's get started with the outfits!

This is definitely my favorite outfit! It is super comfy. I decided to pair a black tank with a random woman on it (that I believed to be Lady Gaga when I was obsessed with her), high waisted black shorts, a red and black flannel and black vans! I added in a couple of rings and a bracelet to complete the look. And a half pony tail just because I was feeling 90s!

For this look I decided to still keep things comfy, but a bit more romantic! I belted a cream flowy blouse with a black belt, jeggings, and black sandals. For jewelry I kept everything white, gold and baby pink.

For the last look, I decided to go a bit fancier. I paired CĂ©line t-shirt with a daisy skirt, and black wedges. For jewelry I chose a statement necklace and a spiked bracelet!

How do you style backpacks? Do you like the trend? Make sure to tell me in the comments!

Yay or Nay: Monochrome

outfits from Marc Jacobs, Oscar de la Renta and Michael Kors.

Hello!

It is time for another "yay or nay"! Today it is all about trendy monochrome. Which I am completely in love with! Last year we had lots of pastel colors, but now they have been replaced by the chic and classic combination of black and white.

I have been seeing a lot of stripes, polka dots, houndstooth and many other different patterns in the classic colors. Here are a couple of pieces that I thought were pretty from topshop and could easily be added to anyone's wardrobe! They are cute and could still be used even when the trend is over. That is what I always do, I try to first buy things that are trendy but I can definitely still wear them after the trend is gone! :)

Another thing that has been very popular is the use of neon lime green in some of the combinations, which I particularly like and it is always good to add a little pop of color in your outfit, and lime green looks absolutely beautiful! Here are two outfits that I saw from Zara's website, I think that they are gorgeous!

You can obviously wear something that you like and add something from the trend. That is what I always do! Make it your own, that is all that matters! :)

So, what did you guys think? Is it a Yay or a Nay? Tell me in the comments and also tell me other things that you would like to see in the Yay or Nay series!

Love,
 Mariana
