Yay or Nay: Bell Bottoms

HELLO!

For today's Yay or Nay, I decided to talk about the newest old trade that is making a comeback this year, Bell Bottoms!

Bell Bottoms are great if you want to have Bohemian look, most of them have a higher waist and look great with flowy tops. For the girls that are shorter, like me, to make your legs look longer you can simply pair the pants with a really high heel, and the bottom should hit just above the ground, that way you look tall and with long legs. To create even longer legs, just tuck your top in your jeans, so it will give an illusion of a smaller torso.

I feel like this type jeans is great for every body type, I think it is very versatile, and it doesn't hurt to see some cute options that are out there. And I do think that if you pair them with a floppy hat, they would look super fabulous! ;)

Left to Right: Top Row - H&M Flare High Waist Jeans ($34.99), Article of Society Red Label 'Kick' Flare Jeans ($88), Target Mossimo High Rise Flare Jean ($29.99)
Bottom Row - H&M Flare Regular Jean, available in other colors ($29.99), Topshop MOTO Jamie Ripped Flare Jeans ($80), See by ChloƩ Patchwork Jeans ($315)

Above are just a few of the options that you can choose from a couple of stores. I personally loved the copper one from Article of Society Red Label and the detail on the lighter wash of the one from H&M is just perfect. I also fell in love with the way Topshop chose to make one that are a bit distressed. And the ChloƩ ones are just amazing, and very weird looking! XD

What do you think of Bell Bottoms?
Feel free to leave any suggestions for my next Yay or Nay post below! :)

Yay or Nay: Gladiator Sandals

HELLO!

Gladiator sandals! One of my favorite trends that I got first introduced to around 2009 (I think, all I remember is I was still living in Brazil!), and now the trend has definitely made a comeback. You can find the sandals everywhere at the moment, whether it is from high-end designers or at your local Target, they are EVERYWHERE!

I personally love the trend because it is so versatile, you can wear sandals that go all the way up to your knee like this gorgeous Stuart Weitzman one, or this Charlotte Russe one:

Left: The Gladiator Sandal by Stuart Wietzman in Black Nappa ($425) Left: Qupid Laceup from Charlotte Russe ($39.99)

You can also wear the shorter ones, but still rock the trend. Whether you'd prefer an edgier sandal like the one from Topshop, or something a bit more delicate like the one by Rebecca Minkoff, it is up to you! :)

Left: Filey Strap Sandals from Topshop ($60) Right: Georgina Sandal in Black by Rebecca Minkoff ($125)
There are also the bulkier sandals, which are my favorites when it comes to gladiators! XD
You can rock a "Hercules" one from Target or a more modern approach from Dr. Martens.

Left: Claudia Gladiator Sandal from Target in Black ($29.99) Right: Clarissa in black leather from Dr. Martens ($109.95)

My favorite brand when it comes to most trendy shoes is Jeffrey Campbell, because I like shoes that are very different and unique. And the brand has some beautiful gladiators, but the thing that stood to me the most was the fact that they make some of them in the option of a high-heel or flat.

Top (left to right): Bellona Leather Knee-High Sandal by Jeffrey Campbell ($290), Isolde Leather Knee-High Sandal by Jeffrey Campbell ($285)
Bottom: Advent Leather Lace-up Heel by Jeffrey Campbell($245), Valeria Suede Lace-up Sandal($195)

PS: The Jeffrey Campbell sandals at the top, can detach a part of it so the sandal can become a shorter gladiator.

As you can probably already tell, gladiators are definitely a YAY for me! What about you? I would love to know your opinion on the trend!

What trend of shoes have you fallen in love with?

Yay or Nay: Khaki

HELLO!

One of the trends this summer has been the color khaki, which one of my favorite colors (usually for fall) is included in: Army green, which I did not know it was considered khaki. At first I thought that it was a bit odd to have khaki as a summer color, even though I am very happy to know that I am being trendy with my army greens, so I thought I would include it in a Yay or Nay to see your opinion about the color during summer!

Here are a couple of pieces I found only that incorporated the trend:

Top row: Topshop sandals, skirt, and pants
Bottom row: Zara skirt, top, and sandals

I am in love with that skirt from Zara, I might buy it! XD
PS: All of the things from Zara are on sale right now, so rush there! :)

Overall, I think that the trend in a Yay, but I have to say that I would not wear the lighter tones, since it would look too much like my skin.

What about you? Do you think this is a yay or nay? Tell me in the comments below!
If you have any other suggestions for this series, make sure to tell me in the comments as well!

Yay or Nay: Floppy Hats

HELLO!

It is time for another Yay or Nay, and the topic is FLOPPY HATS!

Here are a couple of floppy hats...

Top row (left to right): Forever 21 Black Wool Floppy Hat, Forever 21 Straw Floppy Hat, Charming Charlie Barbados Striped Sun Hat.
Bottom row (left to right): Topshop Felt Floppy Hat,  Topshop Lattice Floppy Hat, American Apparel Royal Blue Wool Floppy Hat.
There are many, many options when it comes to floppy hats, and the great thing is that the wool ones are also great for fall! However, if you don't want to cover your head on wool in the hot summer, you can always wear the straw ones. And they're great to hide from the sun! :)

I will be honest that the answer for this post is a no brainer, and it is obviously a yay!

AAAAAND, FYI: The Charming Charlie hat is on sale for only 5 dollars, and it was 20 before! :O

Do you love floppy hats?

Yay or Nay: Colorful Winged Liner

HELLO!

In my everyday makeup look, I always wear liquid eyeliner and I love to mix up my makeup with different colors! So, the trend of colorful liquid liners is obviously wonderful for me. :D

There are a couple of brands that have liquid eyeliners in different colors. I've tried Kat Von D's, and it seems to hold up pretty well. Another brand that is talked about a lot is Limecrime. NYX also has some great colors, if you don't want to spend 20 dollars.

Here are the Kat Vond Ink Liners! They are amazing colors, I am in love! I am planning on buying Neruda (white), and Nietzsche (baby blue). If you struggle to apply liquid liner, this applicator is the best, the pen gives you a lot more control over the line. You can find them here.

I would love to try the Limecrime eyeliners! Especially the Blue Milk (vibrant baby blue), and the Orchidaceous (violet). I like how the colors are very bright, but the applicator is one of the little tiny liquid brushes, which I don't have trouble with but some people might. You can find them here.

Here are just some of the NYX colorful liquid liners. I have the Extreme Blue, the formula is really good especially for being so cheap, however some of them seem to be a little bit metallic. You can find them here.

You can go full on glitter rainbow, like Glam&Gore. (click here for her tutorial)

So, as you can probably tell by now, the answer is YAY! I love colorful makeup, and the colorful liners make me super happy! :D

How about you? Is this a yay or a nay for you?

Yay or Nay: Mom Jeans

HELLO!

A trend that has been around fairly recently is Mom Jeans. They are jeans that are high waisted, usually cropped and not too tight, kind of like the boyfriend jeans fit (they look very 90s in my humble opinion), and a couple of brands are even calling it "mom jeans".

Here are a couple of Mom Jeans:

All from Forever 21 (left to right): Mom Fit Jeans, Acid Wash Mom Jeans, Classic Mom Jeans

All from Topshop (Left to right): MOTO Vintage Mom Jeans, MOTO Black Mom Jeans, MOTO Ice Ripped Mom Jeans
I am a bit on the fence about this trend, I like this type of jeans for other people, but I don't think I would pull it off. I did love the Forever 21 Acid Wash but maybe if it were a skinny jean I would like it even more. I feel like even on the models, they don't always look great. I have a feeling that they are difficult to easily wear with anything and you have to be very careful with your silhouette when wearing these. I also think that the fact that they are cropped will not necessarily be cropped when you have long legs like me (im4'11'' cough cough), but it is nice that TopShop has the Petite and the Tall lines, so that more people can wear these jeans.

Overall, for me, this is a nay. It is a cool trend that is very 90s, but I don't think I will be wearing them any time soon.

What do you think of the Mom Jeans?
How would you style them?

Yay or Nay: Cut Out Boots

HELLO!

Lately I've seen cut out boots being sold all over the place and I thought it was a bit odd. I did some research (which is going in online stores and fashion websites) and saw that cut out boots are actually a trend for spring/summer.

I do love cut out boots, they have been around for a little bit but I never actually got one just because I never found the perfect one, but after seeing that this is a trend for spring I don't see myself wearing them. I always have awful experience with the warmer times of the year, since I hate hot weather and get easily burned (whitepeopleproblems). Wearing boots are not a possibility for me. :s

This is the first nay in the story of this post series! (are you surprised? I am!) I'd definitely yay cut out boots in the fall/winter, though. :)

What do you think about cut out boots in the spring/summer? Is it a yay or a nay?

Yay or Nay: I ❤ CATS

HELLO!

Today's post is all about cats/felines on everything, such as, clothing, accessories, shoes and it goes on and on.

The first store that has quite a few options is Topshop. Here are some of my favorites:

The top row is for the edgier girls. I loooove the leggings and the two bomber jackets are really cute!
For the girls that like the trend, but are don't want to go to the extreme, the PJs and the socks are super cute. And for the weird ones, like me, you will love the tiger onesie! :D

The next one up is Forever 21. I didn't find that many things, but here some of my favorites.

Needless to say that I love the Leggings! The cat ears are cute, but I feel like I would not have the guts to wear them in public and the watch and rings are super duper cute!

Choies  is an online store that has some really cool stuff. They obviously had a bunch of cat stuff...

The beanie and the hat are both perfect for fall and winter. And the tote bag seems to be good for school, and it has a cat with hipster glasses and galaxy in the background. What more could you ask?
They obviously had kitten leggings, which I just love. They also had this cute wedge that I thought it would be nice for the not so daring, I feel like it is a bit more plain and girly. And the final one from Choies is the dress, I love these dresses. I have one a lot like it, but with a tiger instead of a cat. And whenever I see others like it, I want to buy them so badly.

Another online store is Romwe, they have awesome leggings, so they are basically on my wish list.

I picked two cute jumpers, I like both of them, but I think that the distressed white one wins a bit more. They also had these awesome tights with that look like over-the-knee socks. And they have a whole bunch of new cat items. They have cropped tops, skirts and leggings. Who can resist?

The last one is more of a splurge. I have never bought any of these and don't know if I ever will, but they surely are on my wish list. It's Kenzo!

The one that I want the most is their jumper, which I fall in love every single time I see it. I also picked two hand bags, one with a colorful tiger and the other one with it in the same color as the bag. And one that I'll most likely buy is their iPhone case. I think that the blue tiger looks super pretty and with a white iPhone, it will look perfect! ;D

What do you think about this trend? Yay or Nay?
Are you a cat or a dog person? I am definitely an animal in general person! hahahahaha

Yay or nay: Overalls

HELLO!

Today I have another "Yay or nay" and it is all about OVERALLS!
Now, these cute things were trendy in the 90s, but now they are back with a twist, instead of the boring denim ones!

Here are some that I've been loving, from Zara and Topshop:

They look super cute with a cropped top and they add awesomeness to every look! :)

Is it a yay or a nay for you? Make sure to tell me below and if you have a pair of overalls, style them and send me to my email (ticapindosmari@gmail.com) and you can be featured in the blog! :D

Yay or Nay: Transparency

Hello!

Today I will be talking about something that I have been loving for a while, but only now it is truly out there. Specially for spring and summer!
And it is the transparency, which we have seen sometimes but it was only to go the beach or the pool in bags. But now it is a lot more out there, with raincoats and others.

Here are a couple of my favourites:

Valentino

The brand that I have mostly gotten inspired by was Valentino, with their classic pieces and transparency was added to them, making it look completely different.
I don't if I would actually wear a completely clear rain coat, but it definitely caught my attention. The black pumps with just some transparent detailing look classy but still a bit to the trendier side, the sandal has the most beautiful heel I have ever seen. And the bags are simply to die for together with the studded clear bracelet!

zara

Next up is Zara, which caught my attention by how many clear clutches they have and another pro is that they are NEON! Bright colors and transparency? Couldn't get any more trendy.

others

Up above is just a compilation of other brands that made use of transparency:
1. Jeffrey Campbells Soiree Platform Sandal
2. Charlotte Olympia Pandora Clutch
3. Marc by Marc Jacobs cross body bag (available in red and black&white)
4. Jeffrey Campbell Rubicon sandal
5. Jeffrey Campbell Puffer sandal
6. Furla Candy bag

Is it a yay or a nay for you? For me is almost a yay, I wouldn't exaggerate or splurge on anything transparent.

Yay or Nay: Chunky Necklaces

Credit: WeHeartIt

Today will be another Yay or Nay and it is all about chunky necklaces. They have been around for a while.

They are very versatile and can be work over shirts, sweaters and nice dresses.
I personally love them over sweaters and with a nice sock bun!

These necklaces come in different colors and styles, with pearls or tribal prints, chain links or spikes and many others.

Here are a couple of necklaces that I liked:

These two necklaces are from Bauble Bar. The one on the left is the Fuchsia Gem Cluster necklace and the right one is the Ivory Jurassic Collar. I really liked them! :)

These three necklaces are from Zara. I really liked the pearl one because it feels classy but modern and the other two are kind of tribal-ish, which makes me love them!

These two are from Topshop, as you can probably guess I am really into triangles...

Is this a yay or a nay for you?

Love,
Mariana
