Quick Update: New Hair!

HELLO!

In case you didn't know, my hair and I have a very... (how should I say?) transforming relationship.

Because I hate to stay with the same old boring hair for too long, I usually change up every six months or so. A year ago I was blonde, then I went back to brown with ombré, and now...

I turned my boring blonde ombré into a beautiful mermaid turquoise and purple ombré! And I am obsessed with it!

I even painted my nails to match my hair! XD
Turquoise: Kiko nail polish in 343
Purple: L.A. Girl Lazer Beam
What color should I go next on the tips?
What is one thing you would like to do to your hair?

Travel Tuesday: New York City (Soho)

HELLO!

I thought that I would share with you my favorite places to go in NYC, specifically Manhattan since I am still exploring the rest of the Big Apple! :)

One of my favorite places in New York is Soho, I always make the same reference from Kinky Boots by saying (or singing) that it is "the most beautiful place in the world...". The area downtown is much less crowded than Midtown and has lots of shops and restaurants all around, and it is just a couple of minutes away from Chinatown.

My favorite places in Soho are Ladurée on W Broadway, even though it is always crowded it is always nice to go into that little piece of Paris. You can either sit and dine at the restaurant, which I recommend to do at least once, or you can simply grab a yummy pastry to go.

Another place that is also really nice, and not too for away, is Housing Works on Crosby St. It is a bookstore (that was on Gossip Girl), with book wall to wall and it is also a coffee shop, so you can always sit down and relax. They always have great deals on books.

Not too far from Housing Works is Evolution on Spring St, which is the most amazing shop (at least to me)! The store sells all sorts of natural sciences/biology related things, like skulls, necklaces with anatomically correct hearts, vertebrae, posters, and a lot more. Even if you don't buy anything, it is definitely worth looking around.

Another place that is very interesting to shop is Bite on Prince St, apart from selling their usual products, you can also create your own lip color. If any of you are interested, tell me if you want me to dedicate a blog post on my experience there.

When you go down on Broadway in Soho, you will easily find all the stores that you need without having the insane amount of people like Midtown, there are stores such as Express, Forever 21, Zara, TopShop, Vince Camuto, Dune, and many more.

It is not too difficult to walk from Soho down to Chinatown, and if you go further down you will end up around the Financial District and The Battery. Soho is a great place to start exploring the south of NYC.

Review: TodayTix App

HELLO!

Today I thought I'd bring something different, a review of an app. I will be sharing my personal experience and opinion about it. :)

About a month ago, I posted a video talking about what was on my iPhone, and one of the apps was TodayTix, at that point I hadn't tried it out yet. So last week I decided to try it out, and bought tickets to see 39 Steps, an off-broadway play. I looked up on the play's website, and the tickets on the app were much cheaper, so I decided to go ahead and buy mezzanine seats, which were only $20, to my surprise, when I got to the theatre, I ended up getting orchestra seats! The show went great and I carried on my solo adventure in NYC.

Let me explain the app better to you. What you first to is you purchase your tickets through the app, and it works in a way that it will find the best seats for you, but you are still having a discount over the price you are paying. Only a couple of shows are available for tickets there, and depending on the day, there are shows that have more or less discount, and the app also has lottery for Fun Home, On The Town, and other shows. Tickets for a show become available 6 days before the day of the performance. I recommend buying the tickets right when they come out, since the day I wanted to go see a performance was on wednesday, I bought my tickets on thursday, that way I would be able to get the best seats, otherwise you can easily get all the way back in the corner of the mezzanine and that is no fun. The app is very simple once you buy your tickets, you get an email confirming and it also sends you an email on the day of the performance to remind you. On the day of the performance, you pick up your tickets at the theatre's box office, usually about 30 minutes before showtime, and you are ready to enjoy the show!

Easy, right? So what are you waiting for? Go enjoy some broadway fun! XD

After you have seen the show, the app also sends you an email and a code that'll give $20 off a friend's order until the end of august, then in september the discount will be of $10 off. My code is IVWSR

The app is available the app store, google play and amazon. And there is the option of also buying tickets for west end performances in London.

Do you have any thoughts on the app?

Monthly Favorites: July

HELLO!

It is the beginning of another month, which means I will share my favorites of the past month! :D

When it comes to makeup, I have been loving a bunch of NYX stuff as usual! I've been loving the NYX white liquid liner, soft matte lip cream in Morocco, and lipstick in Elektra.

I have been also loving the Pixi nail polish in Summer Pink.

When it comes to fashion, I have been loving my new flip flops from Target! XD They are super cute!

Another thing that I have been loving lately is taking pictures. Granted, I am nowhere near to being a half of a decent photographer but it is a very fun hobby to have! I even made a tumblr just to share my favorite pictures! >.<

This month, I have been reading Phantom of the Opera, which I have been loving so far, specially in the parts that I recognize from the musical! (the nerd in me feels extremely happy!) :)

One of my favorite moments this month, even though it happened by the end of it, was going to New York City (for the first time by myself) and seeing 39 Steps, which the funniest play! I loved it! XD And I also went by Godiva, and got the delicious chocolate covered strawberries that remind of Paris, and couldn't resist stopping by Shmackary's and getting some cookies to go! :)

What have you been loving this past month?
