Yay or Nay: Gladiator Sandals

HELLO!

Gladiator sandals! One of my favorite trends that I got first introduced to around 2009 (I think, all I remember is I was still living in Brazil!), and now the trend has definitely made a comeback. You can find the sandals everywhere at the moment, whether it is from high-end designers or at your local Target, they are EVERYWHERE!

I personally love the trend because it is so versatile, you can wear sandals that go all the way up to your knee like this gorgeous Stuart Weitzman one, or this Charlotte Russe one:

You can also wear the shorter ones, but still rock the trend. Whether you'd prefer an edgier sandal like the one from Topshop, or something a bit more delicate like the one by Rebecca Minkoff, it is up to you! :)

There are also the bulkier sandals, which are my favorites when it comes to gladiators! XD

You can rock a "Hercules" one from Target or a more modern approach from Dr. Martens.

My favorite brand when it comes to most trendy shoes is Jeffrey Campbell, because I like shoes that are very different and unique. And the brand has some beautiful gladiators, but the thing that stood to me the most was the fact that they make some of them in the option of a high-heel or flat.

PS: The Jeffrey Campbell sandals at the top, can detach a part of it so the sandal can become a shorter gladiator.

Yay or Nay: Mom Jeans

HELLO!

A trend that has been around fairly recently is Mom Jeans. They are jeans that are high waisted, usually cropped and not too tight, kind of like the boyfriend jeans fit (they look very 90s in my humble opinion), and a couple of brands are even calling it "mom jeans".

I am a bit on the fence about this trend, I like this type of jeans for other people, but I don't think I would pull it off. I did love the Forever 21 Acid Wash but maybe if it were a skinny jean I would like it even more. I feel like even on the models, they don't always look great. I have a feeling that they are difficult to easily wear with anything and you have to be very careful with your silhouette when wearing these. I also think that the fact that they are cropped will not necessarily be cropped when you have long legs like me (im4'11'' cough cough), but it is nice that TopShop has the Petite and the Tall lines, so that more people can wear these jeans.

Overall, for me, this is a nay. It is a cool trend that is very 90s, but I don't think I will be wearing them any time soon.

3 Fun Ways to Wear a Little Black Dress

HELLO!

A lot of things happened between the last post and this one! 

1. I dyed my hair! I am blonde now! It was quite a process since I have waaaay too much hair. And that is an undeerstatement! (let me know if you want me to make a post all about my experience!)
2. I went to Gypsy Warrior in Ridgewood, NJ (finally!) and I fell in love with the little town and Gyspsy Warrior itself! :D

That's it! Guess not THAT many things but the hair change was definitely a big one! :)

On today's post I wanted to show you my favorite purchase at Gypsy Warrior and fun, quirky ways to style it! 

Here goes:

Look #1: Rainy Day

Dress: Gypsy Warrior; Boots: Doctor Martens; Bracelet: Gypsy Warrior; Earring: H&M

This dress is just perfect for all year round! And for one of those rainy summer days that get a bit chilly and NEVER stops raining. Pairing it with some rubber boots is just the perfect way. PS: This is great for the transition between Summer and Fall! ;D

Look #2: Can you see them?

I have been in love with these see through jelly flats! SO 90S! I decided to pair them with some funky socks, but I also rock them without socks (just gotta have them toes painted!). Since I thought the shoes were attention grabbing already, I decided to not wear too many accessories. I just put on my triangle ring bracelet (keeping the geometric theme ;D).

Look #3: Flower Daisy Power!

I know that this outfit is not everyone's cup of tea. I would definitely tone it down depending on where I'd go. But I couldn't resist! After all, I clearly LOVE daisies! :P

I am, again, rock some cool 90s jellies but these have flatforms. Obviously a flower crown was needed and some hippie inspired sunglasses! :D (You can't see but I even had Daisy stud earrings on! #addicted)

Defining my style!

Long time no post! I recently saw that there was a new IFB project about defining your style, so I thought it would be fun to try it out! 

It basically consists of four question and I will be answering them! 

Who are your style icons?

It is very hard for me to point out one person that really inspires me. I would say that my icons are people in the streets, a blogger called Chiara Ferragni and other bloggers.

What is your lifestyle like?

I am the laziest person ever, so I would say I have a healthy life. But I'm happy anyways. My main goal is to be comfortable with what I wear, who I am and what I look like. I don't really care about judgement that much. I just want to be happy and make others happy, so I am very goofy.

How does your environment affect your style?

Denmark is very could, so I always have to have a big coat on and a huge scarf. I have been wearing stockings a lot, since I've been in a skirt/shorts mood. Another down for danish weather is the fact that it is windy as HELL! So you can never make your hair look really pretty, it WILL get ruined the moment you go outside. I also walk around a lot here, so I tend to wear flats and comfy shoes.

From Brazil to Denmark my style has changed a lot, I feel a lot more inspired here because the girls dare to wear whatever they want, while in Brazil I feel like I stayed in a safe zone.

Where else do your inspirations come from?

I mostly get my inspiration from instagram, youtube, window-shopping and I go to Zara and topshop's webpage at least twice a week to see what they have new and look around.

Overall I would say I like to stay in trend, but still use the things that I like (lucky me, everything that I've always liked is trendy now!), I like to be comfy and daring.
