Yay or Nay: Bell Bottoms

HELLO!

For today's Yay or Nay, I decided to talk about the newest old trade that is making a comeback this year, Bell Bottoms!

Bell Bottoms are great if you want to have Bohemian look, most of them have a higher waist and look great with flowy tops. For the girls that are shorter, like me, to make your legs look longer you can simply pair the pants with a really high heel, and the bottom should hit just above the ground, that way you look tall and with long legs. To create even longer legs, just tuck your top in your jeans, so it will give an illusion of a smaller torso.

I feel like this type jeans is great for every body type, I think it is very versatile, and it doesn't hurt to see some cute options that are out there. And I do think that if you pair them with a floppy hat, they would look super fabulous! ;)

Left to Right: Top Row - H&M Flare High Waist Jeans ($34.99), Article of Society Red Label 'Kick' Flare Jeans ($88), Target Mossimo High Rise Flare Jean ($29.99)
Bottom Row - H&M Flare Regular Jean, available in other colors ($29.99), Topshop MOTO Jamie Ripped Flare Jeans ($80), See by Chloé Patchwork Jeans ($315)

Above are just a few of the options that you can choose from a couple of stores. I personally loved the copper one from Article of Society Red Label and the detail on the lighter wash of the one from H&M is just perfect. I also fell in love with the way Topshop chose to make one that are a bit distressed. And the Chloé ones are just amazing, and very weird looking! XD

What do you think of Bell Bottoms?
Feel free to leave any suggestions for my next Yay or Nay post below! :)

Yay or Nay: Gladiator Sandals

HELLO!

Gladiator sandals! One of my favorite trends that I got first introduced to around 2009 (I think, all I remember is I was still living in Brazil!), and now the trend has definitely made a comeback. You can find the sandals everywhere at the moment, whether it is from high-end designers or at your local Target, they are EVERYWHERE!

I personally love the trend because it is so versatile, you can wear sandals that go all the way up to your knee like this gorgeous Stuart Weitzman one, or this Charlotte Russe one:

Left: The Gladiator Sandal by Stuart Wietzman in Black Nappa ($425) Left: Qupid Laceup from Charlotte Russe ($39.99)

You can also wear the shorter ones, but still rock the trend. Whether you'd prefer an edgier sandal like the one from Topshop, or something a bit more delicate like the one by Rebecca Minkoff, it is up to you! :)

Left: Filey Strap Sandals from Topshop ($60) Right: Georgina Sandal in Black by Rebecca Minkoff ($125)
There are also the bulkier sandals, which are my favorites when it comes to gladiators! XD
You can rock a "Hercules" one from Target or a more modern approach from Dr. Martens.

Left: Claudia Gladiator Sandal from Target in Black ($29.99) Right: Clarissa in black leather from Dr. Martens ($109.95)

My favorite brand when it comes to most trendy shoes is Jeffrey Campbell, because I like shoes that are very different and unique. And the brand has some beautiful gladiators, but the thing that stood to me the most was the fact that they make some of them in the option of a high-heel or flat.

Top (left to right): Bellona Leather Knee-High Sandal by Jeffrey Campbell ($290), Isolde Leather Knee-High Sandal by Jeffrey Campbell ($285)
Bottom: Advent Leather Lace-up Heel by Jeffrey Campbell($245), Valeria Suede Lace-up Sandal($195)

PS: The Jeffrey Campbell sandals at the top, can detach a part of it so the sandal can become a shorter gladiator.

As you can probably already tell, gladiators are definitely a YAY for me! What about you? I would love to know your opinion on the trend!

What trend of shoes have you fallen in love with?

Yay or Nay: Khaki

HELLO!

One of the trends this summer has been the color khaki, which one of my favorite colors (usually for fall) is included in: Army green, which I did not know it was considered khaki. At first I thought that it was a bit odd to have khaki as a summer color, even though I am very happy to know that I am being trendy with my army greens, so I thought I would include it in a Yay or Nay to see your opinion about the color during summer!

Here are a couple of pieces I found only that incorporated the trend:

Top row: Topshop sandals, skirt, and pants
Bottom row: Zara skirt, top, and sandals

I am in love with that skirt from Zara, I might buy it! XD
PS: All of the things from Zara are on sale right now, so rush there! :)

Overall, I think that the trend in a Yay, but I have to say that I would not wear the lighter tones, since it would look too much like my skin.

What about you? Do you think this is a yay or nay? Tell me in the comments below!
If you have any other suggestions for this series, make sure to tell me in the comments as well!

Yay or Nay: Colorful Winged Liner

HELLO!

In my everyday makeup look, I always wear liquid eyeliner and I love to mix up my makeup with different colors! So, the trend of colorful liquid liners is obviously wonderful for me. :D

There are a couple of brands that have liquid eyeliners in different colors. I've tried Kat Von D's, and it seems to hold up pretty well. Another brand that is talked about a lot is Limecrime. NYX also has some great colors, if you don't want to spend 20 dollars.

Here are the Kat Vond Ink Liners! They are amazing colors, I am in love! I am planning on buying Neruda (white), and Nietzsche (baby blue). If you struggle to apply liquid liner, this applicator is the best, the pen gives you a lot more control over the line. You can find them here.

I would love to try the Limecrime eyeliners! Especially the Blue Milk (vibrant baby blue), and the Orchidaceous (violet). I like how the colors are very bright, but the applicator is one of the little tiny liquid brushes, which I don't have trouble with but some people might. You can find them here.

Here are just some of the NYX colorful liquid liners. I have the Extreme Blue, the formula is really good especially for being so cheap, however some of them seem to be a little bit metallic. You can find them here.

You can go full on glitter rainbow, like Glam&Gore. (click here for her tutorial)

So, as you can probably tell by now, the answer is YAY! I love colorful makeup, and the colorful liners make me super happy! :D

How about you? Is this a yay or a nay for you?

Yay or Nay: Mom Jeans

HELLO!

A trend that has been around fairly recently is Mom Jeans. They are jeans that are high waisted, usually cropped and not too tight, kind of like the boyfriend jeans fit (they look very 90s in my humble opinion), and a couple of brands are even calling it "mom jeans".

Here are a couple of Mom Jeans:

All from Forever 21 (left to right): Mom Fit Jeans, Acid Wash Mom Jeans, Classic Mom Jeans

All from Topshop (Left to right): MOTO Vintage Mom Jeans, MOTO Black Mom Jeans, MOTO Ice Ripped Mom Jeans
I am a bit on the fence about this trend, I like this type of jeans for other people, but I don't think I would pull it off. I did love the Forever 21 Acid Wash but maybe if it were a skinny jean I would like it even more. I feel like even on the models, they don't always look great. I have a feeling that they are difficult to easily wear with anything and you have to be very careful with your silhouette when wearing these. I also think that the fact that they are cropped will not necessarily be cropped when you have long legs like me (im4'11'' cough cough), but it is nice that TopShop has the Petite and the Tall lines, so that more people can wear these jeans.

Overall, for me, this is a nay. It is a cool trend that is very 90s, but I don't think I will be wearing them any time soon.

What do you think of the Mom Jeans?
How would you style them?

How I Style: Backpack

HELLO!

Something that I have been seeing everywhere in stores are backpacks and I appreciate this trend a lot! :P So I decided to share how I style looks with backpacks, granted that my backpack is a bit bigger than the tiny ones that are trendy but I love it way too much! :D

So here's my backpack! I believe I bought it at TJMaxx for $30.00! I love the hook on the front and the gold hardware. Let's get started with the outfits!

This is definitely my favorite outfit! It is super comfy. I decided to pair a black tank with a random woman on it (that I believed to be Lady Gaga when I was obsessed with her), high waisted black shorts, a red and black flannel and black vans! I added in a couple of rings and a bracelet to complete the look. And a half pony tail just because I was feeling 90s!

For this look I decided to still keep things comfy, but a bit more romantic! I belted a cream flowy blouse with a black belt, jeggings, and black sandals. For jewelry I kept everything white, gold and baby pink.

For the last look, I decided to go a bit fancier. I paired Céline t-shirt with a daisy skirt, and black wedges. For jewelry I chose a statement necklace and a spiked bracelet!

How do you style backpacks? Do you like the trend? Make sure to tell me in the comments!
