My Experience: Bite Beauty Lip Lab

HELLO!

Today I thought I would share with you one of my favorite experiences from last year, where I made my own lipstick! :D

My friend was the one who found out about the Lip Lab, which is in Soho, NYC. It is a super cute small store, where you can make your own lipsticks, as well as buying regular Bite Beauty products.

To be able to make your lipstick, you have to call ahead and schedule an appointment. The lipstick is $30, which is not bad for being personalized. The girls there are super nice and you first start by choosing the color that you want, you can either come to them with a specific color and they will show you different options, or they can help you figure out what color you prefer. After choosing your color, you pick the finish of your lipstick, matte or glossy, then you pick the packaging of your lipstick as well what flavors you want. And then you just wait and watch them make your lipstick, which is super fun.

This is my lipstick

I chose this super dark matte purple, because I could not find the exact color that I wanted in regular stores. I flavored my lipstick with vanilla and cherry, and it is so good! :)

They also give you a little card with the colors of your lipstick, so that you can go back and buy another the exact same color.

What do you think of making your won lipstick?
What is your perfect shade?

Review: TodayTix App

HELLO!

Today I thought I'd bring something different, a review of an app. I will be sharing my personal experience and opinion about it. :)

About a month ago, I posted a video talking about what was on my iPhone, and one of the apps was TodayTix, at that point I hadn't tried it out yet. So last week I decided to try it out, and bought tickets to see 39 Steps, an off-broadway play. I looked up on the play's website, and the tickets on the app were much cheaper, so I decided to go ahead and buy mezzanine seats, which were only $20, to my surprise, when I got to the theatre, I ended up getting orchestra seats! The show went great and I carried on my solo adventure in NYC.

Let me explain the app better to you. What you first to is you purchase your tickets through the app, and it works in a way that it will find the best seats for you, but you are still having a discount over the price you are paying. Only a couple of shows are available for tickets there, and depending on the day, there are shows that have more or less discount, and the app also has lottery for Fun Home, On The Town, and other shows. Tickets for a show become available 6 days before the day of the performance. I recommend buying the tickets right when they come out, since the day I wanted to go see a performance was on wednesday, I bought my tickets on thursday, that way I would be able to get the best seats, otherwise you can easily get all the way back in the corner of the mezzanine and that is no fun. The app is very simple once you buy your tickets, you get an email confirming and it also sends you an email on the day of the performance to remind you. On the day of the performance, you pick up your tickets at the theatre's box office, usually about 30 minutes before showtime, and you are ready to enjoy the show!

Easy, right? So what are you waiting for? Go enjoy some broadway fun! XD

After you have seen the show, the app also sends you an email and a code that'll give $20 off a friend's order until the end of august, then in september the discount will be of $10 off. My code is IVWSR

The app is available the app store, google play and amazon. And there is the option of also buying tickets for west end performances in London.

Do you have any thoughts on the app?

A Day in New York

HELLO!

As you've seen from yesterday's post, I went to NYC on memorial day. I mainly went there just to explore a bit, take some cool pictures, and go to Shmakary's for the Broadway Bakes, and get to see Laura Osnes! :)

I took the best way to go to NYC, in my opinion, which is taking the Staten Island Ferry that calls for amazing pictures and a super pretty view! You hop off the Ferry and you are by Battery (I was obviously singing: THE BRONX IS UP BUT THE BATTERY DOWN! #onthetownreference). Soho, which is my favorite area of NYC, isn't too far of a walk from where I was so I walked around there a bit, and went to my favorite store: Topshop! :)

After walking around Soho a bit, I took the subway to the Columbus Circle to have a late lunch at my favorite bakery, called Francois Payard Bakery. They have really good macarons, and my favorite sandwich type of thing that I had at Euro Disney. :) After relaxing a bit in FBP, I walked toward Times Square, which isn't a long walk either (completely forgot to through Central Park for pictures  D: ).

And lastly, the thing that I had been waiting for the whole the day was about to happen! I would meet one of my favorite broadway actresses over at Schmakery's, which is like a bakery that specializes on cookies (which are amazing! Definitely a great to go when in NYC for the first time!). The bakery is having Broadway stars sell their cookies from the 25th to the 29th of May, for Broadway Bakes (Here's info of the schedules if you are close to NYC).

At Schamakery's I got a Schmores cookie, that was wonderful, but I was too tired already to take a picture of it (trust me, it was amazing!). Laura Osnes and Corey Cott were selling the cookies, and they were super sweet, singing happy birthday (which Laura sang an octave higher and I melted inside #musicaltheatrefreak) for the girls who were having their birthdays and taking selfies. I also bought Laura's cd, which she signed and all of the money went straight to Broadway Cares.

I then went back home, just as happy I always am after seeing a musical, and took pictures the way back to Staten Island, which the sun helped a lot! :)

What did you do on Memorial Day?

What's in My Bag: NYC Edition

HELLO!

If you follow me on instagram, you may know that I went to NYC yesterday. Because I am super tired today, and my brain has given up one me, I thought I would do a quick post on what I brought to NYC in my bag! :)

My bag is the same backpack that I did the post on how I style a backpack, and I brought this one because I would be caring my DSLR and it was easier to carry a big camera this way.
So, I had my wallet (Target), my keys, and my iPhone (case from Target). I also brought my makeup/emergency bag, in it I have a nail polish, which Sally Hensen's Blue Me Away (because I painted my nails on the drive to the ferry), some Advil, mints, contact lenses solution, band-aids, my MAC concealer, the mascara I was wearing (Maybelline's Mega Plush), my ELF translucent powder, my NYX lipstick in XOXO, and a hair clip. I also brought my DSLR with me, but couldn't put it in the shot, since I was taking the picture with it!

What do you have in your bag?
What did you do on memorial day?
